Drawing on decades of carbon fiber innovation, Felt engineers developed a proprietary suspension system optimized for the Edict. FAST (Felt Active Stay Technology) utilizes carbon fiber’s unique material properties in a leaf spring-style seat stay design in conjunction with a single lower pivot. FAST eliminates unwarranted movement and maximizes pedaling efficiency, delivering impeccable traction, total control, and increased rolling speed, all in the lightest package possible.
Bearings provide less friction than traditional bushing-based suspension linkages, significantly decreasing friction and improving overall efficiency. The new Edict has been optimized for metric shocks, too, the new standard from suspension manufacturers for high-performance riding.
The distance a bike’s rear axle travels relative to how much its shock compresses is called a leverage ratio, which constantly changes throughout a ride. Mapping these ratios on a leverage curve, Felt engineers have cracked the code for the ideal suspension for XC racing, giving the new Edict ideal small bump sensitivity and bottom out resistance.
By utilizing carbon fiber’s unique material properties, Felt engineers designed the Edict’s FAST suspension system with molded-in sag. Thanks to Felt’s carbon expertise, the Edict’s seat stays move into their neutral position once the rider climbs aboard. This is a design that eliminates excess frame weight, and improves both pedaling efficiency and rear end traction.
Based on feedback from the world’s fastest racers, the new Edict features a thoroughly modern geometry. A steeper seat angle puts the rider into a more forward position to increase climbing prowess. A slacker head angle provides more control for faster descending. A longer top tube allows the rider to use a shorter stem, providing quicker steering response for tackling technical terrain.
The new Edict is 450 grams lighter than its predecessor. That’s one full pound! Not only that, but the frame is also 15% stiffer. It’s a staggering achievement from which racers will reap enormous benefits, including quicker acceleration, enhanced climbing ability, and faster lap times.

Today’s racers will utilize the best equipment possible for any given event, and that includes selecting the optimal tire for race day or a killer training ride. The new Edict has room for up to 2.4 tires, giving its rider more options than ever before, whether the day calls for fast and loose, or loamy and flowy.
For the steepest and most technical racecourses, riders can utilize a dropper seatpost to improve confidence on steep drops and white-knuckle descents. The new Edict has room for 4-5” droppers for most saddle heights, as well as internal routing for both stealth-style and traditional droppers.
